What is this qualification?

This award covers the underpinning technical requirements for the installation of electric vehicle charging points. It follows the IET Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation and BS 7671.
Who is this qualification for?

Those who wish to further their career in the electrotechnical sector

Electricians who wish to gain an understanding of the requirements for electric vehicle charging equipment installations, and who are already conversant in inspection and testing and the wiring regulations.
Entry requirements
To be eligible for registration on this qualification, learners must hold one of the following:
• A qualification underpinning core technical competence for work in dwellings from Table A4.7 of the EAS Qualifications Guide or
• A qualification underpinning core technical competence from Table A4.8 of the EAS Qualifications Guide or
• A current ECS Gold Card as a Domestic Electrician, JIB Electrician, or Approved Electrician.
