EAL Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker
Beau Associates now offers the Experienced Worker Assessment to enable mature workers in the electrical industry to gain their Level 3 NVQ.
Code: 603/5982/1
This qualification is designed solely for individuals who have been working in the electrotechnical industry as a practicing electrician for a minimum of 5 years and possess specified knowledge, understanding, and competence as outlined in the skills scan (aligned to the level 3 electrotechnical apprenticeship qualification).
It forms part of the requirements for the Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Assessment, together with the AM2E (outside of the qualification), enabling the experienced worker to apply for an ECS Installation Electrician Gold Card. This qualification is not for new entrants to the electrotechnical industry, apprentices, or those who have completed an electrotechnical technical qualification with less than five years (full-time) relevant industry experience. This qualification covers the competencies involved with electrical installation and commissioning.
The age range of this qualification is 19+, however, it is expected due to the five-year industry experience requirements learners will be significantly older.
Candidate eligibility
Typically, the candidate will have completed relevant electrotechnical theory training and then worked within the industry for a minimum of 5 years as a practicing electrician, which must be auditable. This assessment is not suitable for new entrants to the electrotechnical industry, apprentices, or other trainees who require any training or for inexperienced operatives. It is unlikely that a candidate who has not gained significant industry experience will be able to pass this assessment. Candidates must be able to provide sufficient evidence from site and by witness testimony of previous work to fully meet the qualification specification in the required pathway.
The assessment
This assessment is designed to take into account existing qualifications and experience of the candidate.
