2026 Evening Courses

At Beau Associates, we understand that balancing Electrical Training with work and other commitments can be challenging.

That’s why we’re excited to offer two evening courses starting in early 2026 —designed to fit your training around your schedule.

£900 + VAT

Starting Monday 12th January

The EAL Level 3 Award in Electrical Installation Inspection, Testing, Certification and Reporting combines initial verification and periodic inspection and testing elements in a single qualification. This qualification is for experienced & competent electricians who are looking to enhance their skills and gain recognition for their extensive knowledge. Gaining this qualification can be used as evidence towards meeting the requirements for Qualified Supervisor status and Approved Electrician JIB grade. This qualification is not intended for new entrants; it is designed for electricians who hold relevant Level 3 electrotechnical qualifications and wish to undertake Continuing Professional Development (CPD), acquire new skills, and deepen their understanding of periodic inspection and testing of electrical installations.

Course content

The course is designed to cover all fundamental aspects of electrical inspection and testing, using a blended learning approach consisting of six evenings of electrical theory and practical inspection and testing, with online resources available for access at any time.

Following completion of the taught sessions, candidates will complete the practical inspection and testing exam, as well as the online examination.

All candidates are expected to have a good working knowledge of Guidance Notes 3 (GN3) and have access to their own copy throughout the course.

The course will run over 10 evenings 17:00 to 20:30

  • Week 1 -6 Theory and practice

  • Week 7 Practical assessment evening 1

  • Week 8 Practical assessment evening 2

  • Week 9 Practice online exam

  • Week 10 Online exam



31 Monday Evenings (plus home study) + NVQ Portfolio + AM2

£2900+ VAT (not including NVQ Portfolio or AM2)

This is the next step to qualification for those who have achieved a Level 2 Certificate at College or have partially completed a course through another provider (eg Options Skills).


Entry Requirements

 This qualification is for students who have already achieved the EAL Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installations or City & Guilds 2365 Level 2 Diploma.

or

Students who have gained 01 and 05 units elsewhere- please call if you are unsure about your eligibility.

Candidates must have access to a real work environment to complete the NVQ section of this qualification.  It is anticipated that our candidates should be gaining experience on-site whilst completing the knowledge requirements.



What does this qualification cover?

This qualification comprises of the skills and knowledge required to install electrotechnical systems and equipment in buildings, structures, and the environment. The qualification is made up of knowledge units and performance units.

The units cover a wide range of topics, including environmental technology systems, overseeing and organising the work environment, planning, preparing and installing electrical systems and equipment, cables and flexible cords, inspecting, testing, commissioning, and fault diagnosis and correction.

Understanding the principles, practices and legislation for the inspection, testing, commissioning and certification of electrotechnical systems and equipment in buildings, structures and the environment

Understanding the principles, practices and legislation for diagnosing and correcting electrical faults in electrotechnical systems and equipment in buildings, structures and the environment

Understanding the electrical principles associated with the design, building, installation and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems
